Durante a Nona Sessão de Negociação do Instrumento Vinculante sobre Direitos Humanos e Empresas (Legally Binding Instrument to Regulate, in International Human Rights Law, the Activities of Transnational Corporations and Other Business Enterprises), duas integrantes da Clínica de Direitos Humanos da Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (CdH/UFMG) estiveram na sede do Conselho de Direitos Humanos na cidade de Genebra, na Suíça.
Especificamente durante os dias 23 a 27 de outubro, Sophia Bastos, atual orientadora, e Thabata Pena, extensionista do Eixo Justiça Socioambiental, Direitos Humanos e Empresas participaram das reuniões e realizaram comentários para proteção e promoção dos direitos das crianças neste instrumento junto às seguintes organizações parceiras: DKA Áustria (Dreikönigsaktion – Hilfswerk der Katholischen Jungschar), Clínica de Direitos Humanos do PPGD da PUC-PR, Child Rights Connect e ECPAT International.
Um especial agradecimento a Ingrid Pintaritsch, Ute Mayrhofer, Herbert Wasserbauer, Marco Quattrola e demais membros da Organização Não Governamental DKA Áustria e da CIDSE (Coopération Internationale pour le Développement et la Solidarité), que não somente permitiram as nossas integrantes irem a Genebra para participar da sessão, como também ofereceram todo o apoio necessário antes e durante a semana de negociação. During the Ninth Session of Negotiation of the Legally Binding Instrument to Regulate, in International Human Rights Law, the Activities of Transnational Corporations and Other Business Enterprises, two members of the Human Rights Clinic of the Federal University of Minas Gerais (CdH/UFMG) were at the headquarters of the Human Rights Council in Geneva, Switzerland.
More specifically, from October 23 to 27, Sophia Bastos, the current mentor, and Thabata Pena, an intern from the Socio-Environmental Justice, Human Rights and Business project, attended meetings and made comments on the protection and promotion of children’s rights in this instrument with the following partner organizations: DKA Austria (Dreikönigsaktion – Hilfswerk der Katholischen Jungschar), the Human Rights Clinic of the PPGD at PUC-PR, Child Rights Connect and ECPAT International.
